AIMS Celebrates Its 21st Graduating Class!

It was 1994 when Jordan High School celebrated the first AIMS graduating class.  This year we celebrate our 21st class!  "I have been working with the AIMS program since the beginning," expressed Mrs. Arney, lead teacher, "but I was not one of the original teachers.  Mr. Bradshaw and Mr. Oberjuerge hold that honor...they're OG!"  Over the past 21 years, there have been many exciting changes.  Teachers have changed...classes have sites have changed...and certainly the students have changed.  This year brings two new staff members to the AIMS English department.  Ms. Nancy Moses will replace Ms. Patrice Rice as the freshmen and sophomore English teacher and Ms. Donna Barbano will replace Ms. Poffenburger as the senior English teacher.  Ms. Rice will be moving to JPlus and she will be missed by her AIMS family!  Ms. Poffenburger will be working with the BESTT program as the new lead teacher.  We thank them both for their dedicated service to our AIMS students!

So Class of's YOUR year.  Make the most of it and enjoy every moment.  Don't forget, you have the rest of your life to take on adult responsibilities, so enjoy being a "kid" for a little while longer.  However, don't procrastinate too much...remember those college applications are due in November.  If you need assistance, come by Mrs. Arney's room for help.

Welcome Class of 2017!

AIMS Alumni Give Back

Tiffany Mont Scholarship.JPG

Alumni Tiffany Montgomery with scholarship recipient Stephanie Chan (C/O 2011) and AIMS Lead Teacher, Sabrina Arney.  The recipient of the Tiffany Montgomery Scholarship in 2012 was Josefina Cruz.

Calling all AIMS Alumni...

Keeping in touch with our AIMS Alumni is more important than you know!  When we hear from you, it warms our hearts and inspires us to continue the hard work we do.  Some of you drop us an email from time to time letting us know what you are doing; others have donated time coming back to share your stories with the underclassmen.  (One way to keep in touch is to join Mrs. Arney's FaceBook page.  Friend Mrs. Arney @ Misses Arney and reconnect with old friends!)

One alumni, Tiffany Montgomery has gone way above the call of duty and has worked hard to establish a nursing mentor project for students in AIMS.  Her organization is called Kyrie Mentoring Academy.  In addition, she has donated funds for the Tiffany Montgomery Scholarship in which $500 has been awarded for the past two years to a student who is interested in pursuing nursing as a career.  (Read about Tiffany in the Alumni Spotlight article below.)

Whether you can donate time to come back and speak to the underclassmen, send funds to be used toward our scholarship program, or just drop us an email, we love to hear from you!
