Skippers and first mates from local Long Beach Yacht Clubs hosted Jordan students and teachers in exploring the Long Beach Harbor and breakwater on May 8th, 2010.  Experienced sailors showed students the basics of sailing and gave students hands-on practice in raising the sails, tying onto buoys and piloting boats on their own - an incredible experience!  Thanks to Albertson's and Trader Joe's, students were treated to delicious lunches, snacks and drinks while aboard.  Students got to observe sea lions, feeding dolphins and sea birds up close, as well as a boat's eye view of the workings of the 2nd largest port complex in the world.  A great day at sea!
